Now that summer seems to have finally arrived, we are all trying to cram in as much as possible enjoying activities, concerts, family, friends, and the blessed warm weather! Finally got out the sunscreen the other day only to find it has expired!
If you live close by, Winter Park offers such a great array of things to do in an easily accessible location. Last year we touted “less than half a tank of gas away” to remind folks how close we are. If you live further away, we hear there are some great deals on Frontier into Denver!
This coming weekend we have a nationally acclaimed Blues Artist, Delbert McClinton, playing at Hideaway Park on Saturday for Free! Just stop by the chamber or BVC to get the coupon pass to let you in the gates. Stay with us and we will gie you a 20% discount based on 2 nights or more.
Jazz Festival weekend approaches July 25 & 26- check out the line up on our Jazz Festival page.
Of course there’s the usual array of hiking, biking, riding, sliding, playing to do too!
What are you waiting for? C’mon up!

Ok, so we have a humble prejudice as to why one should reserve a vacation from a rental management company rather than selecting a “vacation rental by owner”. This is our business and what we do for a living; we are professionals! The first rule of vacation is- if something can go wrong, it will. Whether it be travel, stay or experience, vacationing puts us out of our normal daily environment. Isn’t it nice to know someone (the rental management company) has your back?
We can’t tell you the number of times we have heard guests arrive to Winter Park without the basics from the individual they have rented from: like precise directions to the home they have rented, accurate lock box combinations for keys, plumbing and heating issues, lack of snow removal issues, the list goes on. Of course there are plenty of individuals who do a wonderful job of renting and communicating to their guest and we offer them a round of applause. There is nothing more damaging to our reputation as a destination- Winter Park- than to have bad experiences with the vacation rental process.
But the question is why go through the risk of not knowing what you are up against? With Beaver Village Condominiums-THMC staff you have a reservation team to assist with the nuances of the condo you want. Our front desk is here to assist you with questions and activity suggestions. What better resource to find a great place to eat out than those of us who live here? If something goes wrong, we are accessible 24/7 to help fix it. We are here for you! A guest recently sent us a letter of thanks when one of our staff members personally drove him to a local car rental agency so he and his buddy could take a day trip over the mountain. Another sent us a letter for helping us get her and her child, who had a cold, to the store for medicine and crackers! Point is, with a rental management team, you have real people here to help you make the most of your vacation. We enjoy our jobs and welcome the opportunity to become vacation partners!
An additional advantage is that rental management can offer you great deals on lodging, activities and return visits. BVC-THMC is value priced and affordable. Take out the hassle of doing it all yourself, you do enough already! Let us put together a vacation package for you and give you the sense of comfort and security in knowing “we got your back”!

Well our last weekend that the ski season was open at Winter Park, April 19, went out like a whiteout! We had over 3 feet of snow on Friday and Saturday that proved an epic powder experience. You could even call Saturday “local’s day” because I-70 was closed until the afternoon hours! C-lot still proved to be the place to “party-on” and ski crazed fans lined the parking lot with campers, barbeque grills and kegs despite the knee deep white stuff. Hands down, we say Winter Park is the best place to hang it up for the season. We are already planning on opening day for next season November 18 and praying to the snow gods for bountiful snow storms!
It’s bright and sunny here now and we thrill at the site of the melting snow because it means mountain biking, music festivals, river rafting and all the summer good stuff is close around the corner! Can’t wait to get on the river!!

The end of the 08/09 ski season is coming to a close in Winter Park on the weekend of April 18 & 19. However, we like to go out with a “splash”! Winter Park hosts music on Saturday by Slopeside and on Sunday by Brethren Fast at the Plaza. There will be retail sales specials, food and drink specials and slopeside tips and clinics throughout the weekend. Most fun of all will be the big Splash race and obstacle course on lower Larry Sales starting at noon on Sunday. Check out the zany costumes and totally wired skiers and snowboarders who participate and think jumping across a pond of water in gear is fun! Sometimes they make it, most times they don’t! The theme for this Splash is “roll back to the 80’s”. We remember the 80’s don’t we? Big hair, leg warmers, flash dance.. you get the picture, bring it on!
Events are sponsored by Coca-Cola and Snickers.
Stay at Beaver Village Condos with value pricing and great amenities including a complimentary shuttle that will take you back and forth from the Ski Resort! Our last ski season deal of the season is BOGO50% – Buy one night lodging get the second night of lodging at half price! Call for details at 800-824-8438. We are almost sold out so call now!

The Cabriolet is Winter Park’s gondola shuttle from outlying parking to the entrance of The Village. We recently had the chance to act like a tourist and experience the whole thing when we had company visiting on the Wells Fargo Weekend. Everywhere we went it was packed! We don’t think the economy was hurting this weekend! We rented skiis from Christy Sports and drove up to the parking area across from the Resort where we took the bus shuttle over highway 40 to the Cabriolet. The ride was short and the Cabriolet was fun. We enjoyed the scenery and the sunny blue skies! The kids thouht it was the coolest ride of the whole day. Interesting perspective. We skied the Panaromic Express, the new lift and terrain at Winter Park as of just last year. What great runs; you get to the top of the Continental Divide and can take your choice of blue or black runs back to the lift. After skiing, we stopped at Lime Mexican Grille and enjoyed a margarita which was very tasty! The improvements at the base are a long awaited and welcomed addition to the skiing experience and we had a great time. Despite the new activity, we know Downtown Winter Park is still where it’s at. Following our ski day we enjoyed shopping at Cooper Creek Square and dinner at the new Star of India Restaurant. What a great place! Hey, even though Winter Park is small, we like to eat! You can have Italian, Chinese, Japenese, Indian, Mexican, and All American BBQ all within a 4 block radius! We have lived here over 20 years and it’s still fun to take a new perspective and enjoy our town from a guest perspecitive.
The Village at the base of Winter Park is moving along and in addition to Lime Mexican Grille, there is the Cheeky Monk Belgian Beer Cafe. The two restaurants add a nice apres ski feeling to the end of the day and offer diverse and yummy menus for guests to enjoy as they head back to the Cabriolet and outlying parking. There is also a retail store “Shirt Off My Back” where visitors can pick up a quick memento of the fantastic visit to Winter Park Resort. We look forward to next season with more additions!
Beaver Village Condos is on the complimentary shuttle route to and from the ski resort! Enjoy the most convenient drop-off and pick-up locations right from your front door for free!

One of our favorite events at Winter Park is the torchlight ski down at the base of the resort on Christmas Eve. It’s a free event and there’s always a fun festive crowd gathered around the bonfire singing songs and being merry. The event begins with Christmas carols around the bonfire at the base of Winter Park Resort, next to the Zephyr Lift. At 5:30 pm, a procession of torch-bearing skiers begin their way down Lower Hughes trail, followed by Santa Claus and his helpers. A spectacular fireworks display and snowcats adorned with Christmas colors light up the slopes in a Christmas tree formation to conclude the festivities. Immediately following the show at 6:30pm, visitors are welcome to attend Christmas Eve interdenominational services located in the lower level of the Balcony House and Catholic Church services located in West Portal Level 4. Services are scheduled to last about an hour.
We strongly recommend getting there a little early; don’t forget to dress warm!
