There are a lot of activities also going on during the month of December. Saturday, December 3rd, begins with the DemoFest held at Winter Park Resort. This free event takes place at the base of Winter Park Resort giving the public an opportunity to demo this year’s ski and snowboard equipment. The event is free for everyone. You must be at least 18 to participate, have a valid driver’s license. If you are under 18 then you need to have parental consent. This is a great way to check out what is new in the ski and snowboard industry before buying skis or snowboards. Companies that will be participating include Fortitude, Head, Icelantic, K2 Skis, Liberty Skis, Ramp Sports, Salomon, Vertical Skis, Flow, K2 Snowboards and Never Summer.

Later in the evening, join the Winter Park Competition Center in celebrating the 29th Annual Chef’s Cup. This event is a benefit for the Winter Park Ski and Snowboard Foundation. Attendees will enjoy delicious food from local restaurants that will be sharing their house specialties. Beverage offerings include wine and beer. A live DJ will provide a lively atmosphere with some great music to dance and listen to as you enjoy the event. A silent auction will give attendees another opportunity to help support the cause.

A list of the Local menus to be featured at the 29th Annual Winter Park Chef’s club will include; Emilies/Back Country Grill; Deno’s Mountain Bistro; Devil’s Thumb Ranch; Tabernash Tavern; Fontenot’s Fresh Seafood Grill; Hernando’s Pizza and Pasta Pub; Maverick’s Grille; MPHS Pro Start; Showboat Drive By Pie & Catering; The Library (a new restaurant in town as of this summer) along with The Winter Park Sushi Bar; The Lodge at Sunspot; and Wild Horse Catering.

Monday, August 15, 2011: Pack your vacation items and gifts and get ready for the ride home. We also want to thank the town for providing such a great music venue – Hideaway Park. This venue, in the heart of Winter Park, is perfectly situated with views of the Continental Divide, lush green grass, a kids play area, picnic area and skateboard park complete with bowls, rails and jumps.

This year, the Winter Park Chamber again brought us the 9th Annual Blues from the Top, June 24 – 26, 2011. This music event is a great family friendly event! Blues from the Top is usually held in the last weekend of June and is a kick off to our summer concert series.

This July we anticipate more great music with Highnote Thursdays, a free concert series held on Thursday nights. Solshine, a brand new event for Winter Park, is another free concert on the weekend of July 16th. We even have a lodging deal for the Solshine weekend! This event is reminiscent of the American Music Festival that used to be held at Winter Park Resort in the late 90′s and early 2000′s.

The Winter Park Chamber again brings back the Jazz Festival July 24 – 25, this popular event packs downtown Winter Park and the surrounding Grand County. We want to again thank the Chamber for it’s hard work in bringing back this successful event year after year and the people that come back each year for the Jazz Fest.
